Pitijardi delivers a full day & Half Day

The session of Cultural Awareness & Cultural experience in Kultju country.

Aspects of the training will be as follows,

  • Morning session presentation and activities onsite
  • Out on Country Tour to Kultju peoples, significant sites, and places of interest.
  • Cultural gathering back at camp for a traditional foods and end of the day yarn with Kultju elders and community members.
  • Honey ants’ collection
  • Presentation half day sessions would be onsite through presentation and yarning sessions. 8am to 1pm.
  • Booklets & Certificates of Participation and Completion.

The developed Presentation is specifically local to the Kultju, Pini, Tjupan people using the Tjupan language spoken in this area, of the Pini people.

All material and information, gathered in the research of this presentation is of this area and the Kultju people.

Welcome signs for the Kultju Native title area.

Pitijardi has designed and developed the Kultju Welcome to Kultju country signs on country. Three signs placed on the main roads into the Kultju area. 3 designs,

  • Bronzewing mine – With the photo of the Dragonfly – Genegoorah (Tjupan word for dragon fly).
  • T junction Wonganoo – Barwidgee – Bronzewing road.
  • Wiluna road to Barwidgee.

3 selections of photo were used on the signs, from Morell Stevens and Joanne. The wording in Tjupan, was provided and corrected by Keith Sceghi Senior & Edi Ulrich.

15h September 2022, at Bronzewing site, Pitijardi and Northern Star event for the unveiling of the signs with cultural dancers and Elders to Unveil the signs.

Northern Star and Kultju cultural dancers. Elders Keith Sceghi & Lorna Willis Jones Kultju Elders and  Kultju cultural welcome dancers performed a welcome to visitors and Northern star for the opening and unveiling of the signs.

Hannan’s North Tourist Mine – Kalgoorlie

Assisting local indigenous artists and Hannan’s North tourist mine gift shop to make available local indigenous arts and a collaboration of the Mining industry and Indigenous art. Hard Hats and local artist created their own arts for sale in the gift shop.

This project came about with the assistance of GABC, CEO, Elaine Joffery and Northern Star. GABC engaged two researchers, that have completed the ABC foundations studies for Research and development, AWRAE training program, 2022.

Joanne Mongoo & Debbie Carmody were engaged to research and recommend for Hannan’s North Tourist Mine, of Indigenous art and gifts. Research recommendations for engaging local artists and their arts to be sold and made available for their gift shop.
